24 LIFE LESSONS IN 24 YEARS

Life has taught me many lessons and i as i turn 24 , I will like to share 24 of them.

1) GOOD IS NOT ENOUGH BE WISE

I used to think if you are good girl everything will just work out for you, 

No, You have to be WISE!

Wisdom is the principal thing!

2) EMBRACE YOUR STRENGTH AND FORGET YOUR WEAKNESS

Focus on your strength and forget about what you are not good at.

To many times, i have wished to be this or that(because of people and their opinions ), truth is we cannot have it all or be it all, so you have to choose what comes natural for you.

3)FORGIVE AND FORGIVE

I am grateful to my Local church Dominion city independence layout.

(A Leadership institute indeed)

My character was streched, ironed and then polished fine.

I now make room for offences,

And i am telling you so you can do the same , JUST FORGIVE, you hear? Just let it go, if it happens again, Let it go again.

A person who forgives is wise.

Truth is offences will surely come, so make room for it!

So whenever it comes, you send it to the guest room (Hahahaha)

4) LEARN TO WAIT FORT THE TIME OF PROMISE

As God took me from phase 1 to phase 2 of life, i have learnt to wait and trust in him, i have learnt to choose his timing, no matter how i felt. Because the few times, i did not wait, things went really bad. God is ominiscient, if he is saying wait, wait, do not rush, he knows a lot you do not.

5) BE BRAVE!

Be brave enough to live the life you desire.

You can be whatever you want to be!

Courage is all you need.

Just be Brave!

I dreamt of becoming a media entreprenuer for 5 years

Until i took the brave step of starting,

My dreams would have just been written in my journal.

Today i am counting 4 years since inception.

6) TAKE A BREAK IF YOU NEED TO

I know alot of you must have wondered where i have been.

l TOOK A BREAK.

Success in life demands,

moments of seperation.

Refuse to be under societal pressure, and choose your pace.

it is not a once in a life time thing, its something you need to do from time to time. 

7)KEEP YOUR PRIVATE PARTS PRIVATE

 Let the private part of your life be private. People do not need to know what they do not need to know that is going on in your life.

8) LOVE, JUST LOVE.

Love those who love you fiercly and love those who hate you as you love yourself.

I have learnt to LOVE, JUST LOVE!

9) ITS OKAY TO CRY

There is nothing wrong with crying

it lightens up your heart.

I have always thought that crying is a sign of weakness.

l like to toughen up and take all the harness life brings, i realized i was loosing my soul in the process.

so when my heart is heavy i CRY, whether there is a shoulder or not, when i am done i clean my eyes, i dress up and i smile for the camera.

10) KEEP TO YOUR WORDS.

I have been in so much trouble making promises i am unable to fufill, just because i want to make the next person feel good. My inability to fufill these promises makes them feel even worse and it had made me lack intergrity.

So i have learnt to say only what i will and can do. Does not matter who is invovled.

11) LIFE IS ABOUT CHOICES.

Choice is powerful and it is a determining factor to how our life turns out.

So i have learnt to choose wisely.

Please learn to choose what you would never regret having.

12) SEEK SPIRITUAL GUIDIANCE

The spiritual controls the physical.

Seek Spiritual guidiance at all times.

For me, i believe in jesus, and he adviced me in his word, to commit my ways to him, that he will bring it to pass, so just before i do anything i seek his guidance, life has been uncomplicated ever since.

13) BE YOUR TRUTH

if you can not be, say, take or have it, then do not, what the next person will say should not matter. Be your truth.

Be who you are.

14) GIVE PEOPLE A BENEFIT OF DOUBT

Always give whoever you are dealing with a benefit of doubt.

Do not treat people according to what you have heard about them.

15) DO WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU.

Thats all i can say, whenever you are in confused state,

And you dont know what to do,

Think carefully and do what is best for you.

16) NO ASSUMPTIONS

Be Brave enough to confront issues, heads on.

Do not Assume this or that.

Get facts.

17) SHARE RESULTS NOT PROGRESS

Until it is done, Keep it to yourself.

A popular preacher, TD jakes says we give the devil to much information.

And yes we do!

To much status update of our progress.

18) LIVE FOR SOMETHING

Every year since the year of inception of my Non Profit  firm whose aim is to empower and celebrate women, i had put my life, my reputation, my peace of mind at risk just to make sure women are lifted.

This is very important to me.

(In 2016,Dv Fashion partnered with us, In 2017, Guardian Nigeria Partnered with us, In 2018 Access Bank wrote to partner with us, Amongst other Amazing partners,for me this is progress.)

And i am proud of all i have accomplished. Because its a sign that i am doing something great.

19) BE FINANCIALLY LITERATE

Not until i was neck deep in debt and broke! I never understood what it means to be financially literate, i used to think foolishly about money.

I now know what financial budgeting is, savings, and investing as well!

I now plan every Kobo.(Thanks to Arese's Smart Money Woman)

20) DO NOT ALLOW PEOPLE DO FREE THINGS FOR YOU

I was having a meeting with one of my brothers (Christian Okoli) some time ago. And he said to me, do not allow people do things free for you, (I am sure he does not remember)Always give them something in return either cash (No matter how small) or a honour(that is worthy of service).

At First it was hard, because of who i am, Alot of people just want to do things free for me,(why will i not just enjoy the luxury? if when some other people charge me, i will frown at them) but in the long run i realized freebies and debt have no much difference. (So i decided to offer something back for any service rendered to me no matter how small)

21) DISCOVER YOUR SELF

I discovered my life purpose when i was 15! At that age i knew i was going to be a media entreprenuer whose primary purpose is to celebrate and inspire women.

Since discovery, My purpose lights up my path.

(At Age 17 i was already entering government house and making small small money for myself.)

I started my blog when i was 18 and

Today i am living my dream life.

22) YOUR INSTINCTS ARE RIGHT

Yes, That strong knowing you feel about something or someone in your heart is right.

Follow it.

23) DO NOT JUDGE PEOPLE

One day in my quiet time while i was having a conversation about someone with God he said to me success i am first a "Father before i am God"

The truth is God loves everyone even the one you think is not worthy.

As a Leader or Mentor, do not say What God has not permited you to say over or about any one.

Keep your remarks and opinion to yourself.

So me i have learnt to speak not as a judge but as a messenger. Fighting my own salvation with fear and trembling.

24) DO NOT OVER REVERENCE PEOPLE

It took me quiet a while to stop this,

(just because i want to make them feel good, because most times,it doesnt come natural, i am being compelled to ) Dont do that, you will loose yourself in the process.

Accord to every man his respect.

Do not over do it.

I am proud of all i have acheived and i am exicted and grateful for the beautiful oppourtunities headed my way.
